39K Odisha Students Appear For JEE Main 2019

Bhubaneswar: About 39,000 students of Odisha appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main-2019, which began at nine centres in the state on Tuesday.

The all-India entrance test, conducted for the first time by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission in the engineering stream, has begun at 273 centres across the country in which about 9.5 lakh students are appearing in the test.

In view of the two-day nationwide Bharat bandh call given by different trade unions, the students had arrived at the nine centres in Odisha on Monday night.

While the Paper-II of the JEE Main is being conducted on Tuesday, the Paper-I will be held from January 9 to 12.

The test for these two papers will be held in two sittings. While the first sitting will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, the second sitting will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

Students failing the first-phase examination will be allowed to sit for the second phase.

Apart from this, students keen to pursue Integrated MSc will have to qualify the JEE Main.
