Bhubaneswar: Chief Spokesperson of the Odisha government on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi on Friday said that the third coronavirus patient in the state had visited three different hospitals in Bhubaneswar.
“This might have serious implications,” he said and added: “COVID-19 is a war”.
Bagchi had earlier informed the media that the 60-year-old man, who tested positive for the killer virus last night, had visited Kar Clinic and Capital Hospital in the city. He had also come in contact with an Odisha Assembly staffer. The third patient had travelled to Delhi on March 7. During his stay in Delhi, he had visited Rewari in Haryana. He, his wife and daughter then took the IndiGo flight 6E 2014 for Bhubaneswar on March 10, the chief spokesperson had said.
“We shouldn’t cross the threshold of our houses unless there is a direction from 104. We should avoid being a super-spreader,” he said, giving an example from South Korea, where a 61-year-old woman with COVID-19 infection had come in contact with 1100 people.
