Bhubaneswar: The 3rd edition of Konark International Cyclothon will start from December 23 and conclude at Koraput on December 29.
This year’s theme is ‘Pedal to preserve nature’, announced founder and director of KIC and Roots of Odisha Foundation Sudhir Dash on Friday.
“Over 1,000 of cyclists will pedal on Marine Drive from Konark to Satapada. Out of them, 20 cyclists mentored by five NGOs will go on the 6-day cycling expedition from Konark to Koraput,” Dash informed.
Srikhetra to Sabara Khetra, the visit via Chillika, Rambha, Chandragiri and the Sabara Khetra of Koraput will be a mesmerizing treat to our participants, he added.
Roots of Odisha Foundation in association with CRESPAI (Confederation of Renewable Energy Service Providers And Industries) will host the cyclothon with the mega support from various participating NGOs such as Mission Odisha, SELAR Society for ethical Legal Action and Reforms), Prerna.
The participating NGOs and their sponsored participants will create environmental awareness and promote social causes on the theme KIC is associated with it.
While Mission Odisha will sponsor 5 of their brigades to spread the awareness against tobacco consumption (tobacco causes cancer), CRESPAI will spread the message of Save Fuel, Save Environment and Lead a Healthy Life.
