Bhubaneswar: Four persons were arrested by Forest department officials for allegedly killing a wild boar and selling its meat in Odisha’s Balangir district.
As per information, the four men reportedly killed a wild boar and were selling its meat at Muribahal village under Tureikela block of Balangir district on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, the forest officials raided the place and apprehended the four when they were selling the meat.
The arrested four have been identified as Sudan Majhi, Radheshyam Dharua, Indra Dharua and Bhajaman Majhi of Muribahal village. They reportedly hunted the wild boar from nearby Bongomunda forest range.
The forest department staff also seized sharp weapons and other hunting materials from them, sources added.
Worth mentioning that earlier also instances of locals hunting wild animals and selling their meat were reported from Tureikela block, sources added.
