Keonjhar: Four persons, including two women, were arrested for allegedly harassing a woman over suspected adultery at Sadangi village under Anandapur subdivision in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

According to sources, Sisir Sankhuala, a young man from Sadangi village in Anandpur, Keonjhar, visited a nearby house to buy handia (rice beer) from a woman after harvesting paddy. Locals, suspecting an illicit relationship, locked Sisir and the woman in the house and informed her husband. The mob threw chili powder at the couple and parade them with garlands of shoes. Some bystanders recorded the incident and posted it online.

The woman later filed a complaint with the police, which conducted an investigation and arrested the four.

Recounting the horror, Sisir said that he was waiting on the verandah when a group of youths accused them of misconduct, locked them in and attacked them.
