Bhubaneswar: With 2024 elections barely months away, BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan will arrive in Odisha on Tuesday and hold meetings in Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur Parliamentary constituencies, state BJP president Manmohan Samal informed on Monday.
Speaking to reporters before the office-bearers meeting, he further said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will also be visiting the state on February 15. “He is scheduled to offer prayers at the Jagannath Temple and review poll preparations in Puri Parliamentary constituency,” he said.
He further said that Union Minister Rajnath Singh will arrive here on February 22. “His itinerary is yet to be finalised. BJP national president J P Nadda may also visit Odisha by the end of this month,” he added.
Odisha election in-charge of saffron party Vijaypal Singh Tomar and co-in-charge Lata Usendi are holding a brainstorming session with senior party leaders of the state unit in Bhubaneswar to finalise the strategy for the upcoming polls.
The BJP has set a target to capture a 51% vote share in the 2024 general election.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sounded the poll bugle with a massive programme of the party in Sambalpur earlier this month.
In January, senior BJP leader Jaynarayan Mishra had said that 21 national leaders of the party will campaign in the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha ahead of the elections. He added that the party is focussing on strengthening its base at the booth level and assembly constituency-specific strategies are being formulated to defeat the ruling BJD.
