4 Bogies Of Goods Train Derail In Odisha; 2 Passenger Trains Cancelled Today, Check Details

Sambalpur: Four bogies of a goods train derailed near Sarla yard in Odisha’s Sambalpur district late on Wednesday night.

According to sources, the cement-laden train was coming from Jharsuguda when the bogies derailed.

Currently, line work between Rupra Road-Norla Road-Lanjigarh Road stations of Titilagarh-Singapur road section under Sambalpur division and between Kapilas Road and Nergundi stations of Cuttack-Jakhapura road section under Khurda Road Division is underway.

However, the cause behind the derailment is yet to be ascertained. “The reason behind the incident will be investigated,” Sambalpur Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar told media persons.

The Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Express and Jharsuguda-Sambalpur train have been cancelled for today. Similarly, Puri-Indore Express will run via Sambalpur. Rourkela-Gunpur Express and Dhanbad-Bhubaneswar Express departed from Sambalpur station.

It is pertinent to mention here that four bogies of a goods train derailed near Dharuadihi railway station on the third line and overturned in Sundargarh district on Sunday.

Diversion of trains:

18117 Rourkela-Gunupur Express JCO 12.10.22 will diverted via Sarla- Sambalpur-Sambalpur city instead of Sarla-Sambalpur City

18118 Gunupur-Rourkela Express JCO 12.10.22 will diverted via Sambalpur City- Sambalpur-Sarla instead of Sambalpur City- Sarla

02831 Dhanbad- Bhubaneswar Special JCO 12.10.22 will diverted via Sarla-Sambalpur-Sambalpur lcity instead of Sarla-Sambalpur city

20918 Puri-Indore Express JCO 13.10.22 will diverted via Sambalpur city-Sambalpur-Sarla instead of Sambalpur city-Sarla
