Bhubaneswar: A speeding luxury car allegedly rammed into multiple vehicles near Palasuni flyover in Bhubaneswar early on Thursday, leaving at least four people grievously injured.
According to sources, the car was reportedly travelling at over 150 kmph when the driver apparently lost control over the wheels. As a result, the vehicle first dashed against three cars and two motorcycles. The impact left three cars and two two-wheelers extensively damaged.
The injured persons were taken to Capital Hospital for treatment. One of the victims was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Kataka as his condition deteriorated.
Police suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The multi-vehicle crash created panic among local residents and temporarily disrupted traffic in the area.
On being informed, a team from Mancheswar police station rushed to the spot, detained the driver of the vehicle and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the crash.
