4 Die After Car With ‘Press’ Sticker Hits Roadside Tree In Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: At least four persons died after the car in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree under Dabugaon police limits in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district late on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Md Sadam, Rabin Hial, and Saban Hial of Gaduagada Sahi and Ansar Khan.

According to sources, the accident took place when five persons were returning to Nabarangpur from Umerkote late in the night. Three among them died on the spot.

On being informed, the local police arrived at the spot and recovered the bodies. Another person succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at S L N Medical College & Hospital, Koraput. The condition of the other injured person is stated to be critical.

“We got information about the accident around 1 am. Three persons died on the spot,” a senior police officer Pramod Nayak told the media.

The exact reason behind the road accident is unclear. However, police suspect that the mishap might have occurred due to overspeeding or poor visibility due to fog.

Besides, the owner of the ill-fated car had sold it to another person recently. A sticker mentioning ‘press’ was found pasted on the windshield of the car. It is unclear whether any journalist was travelling in the car or not.
