Koraput: At least four persons drowned and went missing after a country boat carrying them capsized in a river in Semiliguda area of Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday.
The mishap took place near Podagada jetty under the jurisdiction of Semiliguda police station.
Sources said four others travelling in the boat were safely rescued from the river. According to local Sarpanch, three of the missing persons were women. A search operation has been launched to trace them.
The country boat with eight passengers on board was on its way to Tentulipadar from Mukhigudai when the mishap took place. Further details are awaited.
