4 Drown In Separate Mishaps In Odisha After Holi Celebrations

Bhubaneswar: At least four persons, including a minor boy, drowned while taking bath after celebrating Holi in different places of Odisha on Saturday.

As per a report from Ganjam district, a 10-year-old boy drowned while taking bath in the sea in Rambha area after celebrating Holi in the afternoon.

The incident took place near Podampeta village under the jurisdiction of Rambha police station in the district. The deceased, identified as the son of a fisherman, got swept into deep water and drowned while bathing in the sea with his friends.

In another incident, a youth drowned while taking bath in Mahanadi river in Cuttack district. The incident took place near Bhattarika Peeth in Narasinghapur area.

Similarly, a tourist drowned while taking bath in the sea in Puri. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

In yet another mishap, a man died after drowning while bathing in a pond after playing colours in Kalahandi district.
