Rourkela: Four fake aspirants were apprehended while appearing for the non-teaching staff exam at National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Odisha’s Rourkela.
They have been identified as Puneet Singh, Gaurav Chauhan, Manish Kumar, and Suni, all natives of Haryana. The four were detained by NIT security personnel on suspicion and later handed them over to the cops.
“We received a complaint at Sector 3 police station yesterday from the Registrar about four fake aspirants appearing for the exam. A case was registered on basis of the complaint and the four were arrested after a probe,” Rourkela DSP Pushpanjali Lingi told the media.
Police have seized cell phones, other documents, and electronic devices from their possession, she said, adding that further investigation is on.
