Sambalpur: Four Fire Service personnel sustained grievous burn injuries after an LPG cylinder exploded during a firefighting operation at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Chownagarpur Bazar under the jurisdiction of Burla police station when the fire service personnel were engaged in a firefighting operation, sources said.
On getting information about a fire incident at a tea shop, the firefighters tushed to the site and were trying to douse the flame when the cylinder blast occurred.
Two of the injured were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack while the other two are undergoing treatment at the Medical College and Hospital in Burla.
On being informed, police personnel rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Further details are awaited.
