Boudh: Four friends were injured, one among them critically, after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a roadside tree near Charichhak Getamunda bridge in Odisha’s Boudh district late on Saturday.
According to sources, the accident took place when the person driving the car lost control over the wheels while they were on their way to Phulbani from Boudh. It being suspected that he was driving the car under the influence of alcohol.
On being informed, Fire Service personnel rescued the four trapped inside the car and rushed them to district headquarters hospital here.
“The Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) received a call on 112 about a car accident near Charichhak in Boudh district late last night. The ERSS authorities immediately contacted the nearest fire service, which reached the spot and rescued the four persons and shifted them to a healthy facility,” Odisha Police posted on X.
One among them was later referred to VSS Medical College and Hospital (MCH) since his condition was critical.
Police have seized the vehicle and initiated an investigation into the matter.
