Dhenkanal: Police on Sunday arrested four youths accused of allegedly gang raping a homeless woman in Bhapur area of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The accused allegedly sexually assaulted the woman for over four months in an abandoned Anganwadi centre, subsequently impregnating her, said sources.
The woman, aged about 22 years, is now seven months pregnant and staying with her ailing father at the abandoned building.
Dhenkanal police acted after an Odisha-based human rights activist moved the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in this grievous matter.
The accused are being questioned and efforts are on to nab others involved in the heinous crime, the sources added.
