Puri: Chandanpur police here nabbed four persons while allegedly smuggling 273-gram brown sugar from Bhubaneswar to Puri on Saturday night.
The arrested have been identified as Seikh Sajan (25), Prakash Behera (29), Seikh Samatulla (50) and Apsana Bidi (45).
The car used for smuggling the contraband worth Rs 27 lakh has also been seized.
According to police sources, the accused claimed to have procured the contraband from Jaleswar in Balasore.
Further investigation is on.
