4 Injured As Drunk Driver Rams SUV Into Two Vehicles In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: At least four people were injured following a series of accidents after an SUV rammed into two vehicles on Jobra bridge in Odisha’s Cuttack on Monday.

After colliding with the vehicles, the SUV, driven by a person allegedly in an inebriated condition, was suspended from the wall of the bridge precariously.

There were five youths in the SUV including two girls when it hit a pick-up van and an auto-rickshaw leaving four persons injured.

According to sources, the condition of two of them is serious. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack.

Tension prevailed in the area as locals found liquor bottles in the vehicle and demanded action against the erring SUV driver.

On being informed, the local police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.

Cuttack ACP Arun Kumar Swain informed that the accident occurred due to the reckless driving of the SUV driver. He has been detained for interrogation and legal action would be taken against him as he was drunk, the police said.
