4 Injured As Firecrackers Explode In Manufacturing Unit In Odisha’s Khurda

Khurda: Despite state government’s ban on sale and use of firecra

ckers, four persons were seriously injured as the crackers they were making exploded in a village of the district on Sunday.

The injured persons, identified as Rinku Pradhan, Jitendra Pradhan, Somanath Hati and Sumanta Pradhan, were engaged in making the firecrackers in a unit in Khanata village under Banapur police limits. Police have detained one Kailash Pradhan who was running the cracker manufacturing unit.

The victims were rushed to Banapur Community Health Centre and later, shifted to Bhubaneswar.

The government has prohibited the sale and use of firecrackers from November 10 to 30 in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
