Bhubaneswar: At least four people were injured after a speeding traveller vehicle rammed into a battery-operated auto near Brit Colony at the Badagada area of Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning.
The collision occurred on the main road causing chaos and sparking panic among locals who rushed to the spot for rescue. Ac
cording to eyewitnesses, the traveller was moving at high speed when it lost control and hit the auto, throwing passengers onto the road.
CCTV footage shows the impact of the crash has since gone viral on social media shows the auto smashed to pieces. The other people on the road fortunately escaped unhurt.
Police sources said the 4 injured people were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. While their condition is reported to be stable, authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Badagada police have registered a case and detained the driver of the van. Cops are examining the CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events.
