Cuttack: Four persons died while another suffered grievous injuries when the car in which they were travelling was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Gopalpur in Cuttack district in the early hours of Thursday.
On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued those trapped inside the car by using gas cutter.
While three occupants died on the spot, the driver of the vehicle, who was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital along with another person in a critical condition, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The accident occurred around 4 am while the car was coming from Bhubaneswar, police sources informed.
