Baripada: At least four people were killed and three critically injured in series accidents reportedly caused by a truck in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.
As per preliminary information, the incident took place near Badadalima Chhak and Bagdegra area of the district in the morning. A speeding truck first hit three persons at Badadalima Chhak, killing one person and causing grievous injuries to the other two.
While speeding away from the spot, the truck dashed against an autorickshaw at Bagdeda under the jurisdiction of Bahalada police station. A couple travelling in the autorickshaw and the driver of the three-wheeler died, while another passenger sustained critical injuries under the impact of the collision, sources said.
The injured persons have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, while police initiated a probe into the incident after sending the bodies for autopsy.
