Phulbani: A car hit a stationary truck killing four persons, including two children, near Lahabadi under Phulbani Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district late on Saturday. Four other people sustained critical injuries.
The injured persons have been referred for treatment to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
According to sources, the incident happened around 12.25 am when the car with 8 persons on board rammed into a stationary truck after the driver lost control over the vehicle due to dense fog.
One person died on the spot and seven others were rushed to district headquarters hospital, Phulbani, where three others also succumbed to injuries. Later, four injured persons were shifted to the MKCG in Berhampur.
They were reportedly returning to Gumagarh village after attending a function at Talapada.
