Baripada: Four persons including an infant were killed after a tractor-trolley carrying them overturned in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday evening.
According to sources, a group of people were returning to Bagabuda village after attending a cultural event at Damanisahi when the mishap took place near Murunia Chhak under Jharpokharia police limits.
The sources said as the driver of the tractor lost balance, the vehicle skidded off the road into a farmland and overturned. While one person died on the spot, three others including an one-and-a-half-year-old baby succumbed during treatment at the Sirsa Hospital.
More than 30 persons were reportedly injured in the accident. The identity of the deceased had not been confirmed till the report was filed.
On being informed, police and Fire personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation.
