4 Killed In Bus-Truck Collision In Baripada

Baripada: Four passengers, including a woman, were killed and 10 injured when a private bus in which they were travelling, collided with a truck on National Highway-18 near Agaria Chhak under Baisinga police limits in Mayurbhanj district late on Thursday.

The driver and the helper of the bus fled the area soon after the mishap.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place at around 12.30 am when a Baripada-bound private bus from Bhubaneswar collided head-on with an iron-laden truck on Agaria bridge.

On being informed, police and a Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and rushed the injured to the district headquarters hospital in Baripada. The condition of the two passengers was stated to be critical.

The postmortem of the four bodies will be conducted on Friday after which these will be handed over to the family members, police said.
