4 killed, two injured as car hits roadside tree in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Four persons, including two women and a child, were killed while two sustained serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling rammed a roadside tree at Batemura under Dhama police limits in Sambalpur district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as junior engineer of Rayagada works department Gopinath Kisan’s wife Tapaswini Kisan, daughter Gyanada, aunt Binapani Kisan and driver Sanjay Matangi.
The injured, Gopinath and his relative Suresh, were admitted to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.
The vehicle was heading towards Ghanasara in Sambalpur district from Kashipur when the accident occurred. Overspeeding is suspected to have led to the accident.
