4 Members Of Gang Held For Forceful Eviction In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police have detained 4 members of a gang for alleged forceful eviction in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the gang of around 20 persons had come to a house under Airport police limits in the city on Wednesday and terrorised its owner. Armed with knives, swords and hockey sticks, they came in a car.

They first threatened the house owner and then threw the furniture outside. They also allegedly beat up his wife and warned others who tried to come to the rescue of the couple.

While the gang was engaged in violent acts, the locals informed the police. But by the time police arrived, they had left in their car.

According to the locals, the gang is hired to carry out forceful eviction of the occupants from houses and properties.

Following investigation, the police on Thursday traced 4 members of the gang and detained them. The gang’s car used in the crime has also been seized. The police have launched further investigation to trace other members of the gang and were questioning the arrested persons.
