4 More Arrested For Attacking Students Of BJB College In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Four more youths have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack on three students of BJB Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar, taking the total to 8.

The four have been identified as Ritesh Naik, Vicky Dalei, Pandia Das and Laxminarayan of a slum on Janpath Road in the city. A knife, a bat, stumps and two motorcycles have so far been seized from the accused. Four among the eight arrested have criminal antecedents. police sources said, adding that efforts are on to nab others involved in the incident.

Among those arrested earlier, three youths were from Mahisakhala and one from Kedarpalli.

Around 20 youths had attacked the undergraduate (UG) students, all inmates of BR Ambedkar hostel of the college, after having an altercation over playing cricket on the college playground last Saturday. One of the students sustained head injuries and two others were stabbed in their hands.
