4 More Succumb To COVID In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,294 on Monday with four more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.

According to Health department sources, two deaths each have been reported from Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur district.

Here are the details of the deceased in different districts after an audit:

1.A 75 years old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease & Chronic Kidney Disease.

2.A 47 years old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

3.A 39 years old female of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from Covid 19 Pneumonia, ARDS.

4.A 48 years old female of Jagatsinghpur district.

Notably, Odisha has reported 6,409 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.

There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.

The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 40 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
