Sundargarh: In a ghastly incident, mutilated bodies of four persons were found on the Bimalagarh-Kiriburu railway track on the Odisha-Jharkhand border near Sundargarh on Saturday. The recovered bodies are of a man, a woman and two children.
According to preliminary reports, two mutilated bodies of a man and a woman were packed in two sacks and dumped on the track. The other two bodies were that of children – a boy and a girl. The bodies of the children were recovered on the track about 15 metres away.
While it is suspected to be a case of murder; police and the GRP have started an investigation into the incident.
It is suspected that all four were brutally murdered by some miscreants and their bodies thrown on the track.
The identities of the victims are yet to be ascertained. Police are probing to ascertain if the deceased belong to a family.
Senior officials of the Government Railway Police (GRP) along with a forensic team rushed to the site and launched an investigation into the incident. The bodies have been seized and sent for post-mortem. Further details are awaited.
