Bhubaneswar: It’s is a proud moment for Odisha as four scientists from the state received the National Awards for Technology Innovation in Petrochemicals and Downstream Plastics Processing Industry for the year 2019-2020.
Dr Smita Mohanty, Dr Akhaya Kumar Palai, Sagar Kumar Nayak and Smruti Ranjan Mohanty were felicitated for Innovations in Polymeric Products.
Likewise, Balasore Chemicals received the award in Innovations in Green Polymeric Materials and Products category.
Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, DV Sadananda Gowda presented the awards at a function organised at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
An initiative by the department, it is aimed at felicitating and recognising the innovative efforts of renowned scientists, researchers and industrialists in the broad areas of polymer science and technologies.
