Nuapada: Four persons including a child riding a motorcycle died as the bike collided with a truck in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Monday.
According to sources, 5 persons including three young men, a woman and the child were going on the bike from Komna towards Nuapada town in afternoon when the bike collided head on with the truck coming from opposite direction on National Highway 353 near Krishna village.
While the three youths died on the spot, the locals rushed the woman and the child to community health centre (CHC) at Komna. The doctors of the hospital declared the child brought dead and said the woman was in critical condition. Later, she was shifted to district headquarters hospital at Nuapada as her condition deteriorated.
The eyewitnesses said both the bike and the truck were travelling in high speed. The bike rider lost control as the NH had become slippery and visibility was also low due to heavy rain at the time.
