Nayagarh: Four members of a family were injured after being allegedly attacked by BJD workers over political enmity at a village in Odisha’s Nayagarh district.
According to sources, the incident took place at Chandibasta village under the jurisdiction of Town Police Station in the district, triggering tension in the area.
It was alleged that several BJD workers attacked the members of the family, stated to be supporters of BJP, with sharp weapons on Monday. Four members of the family were critically injured in the attack.
The injured were initially rushed to Nayagarh hospital and later shifted to the Capital Hospital and AIIMS in Bhubaneswar as their condition deteriorated.
After getting information about the incident, a team of police personnel rushed to the site and launched an investigation into the incident.
Locals said the clash was the outcome of political rivalry and financial disputes between the two parties. Both the groups were engaged in bitter altercations on several occasions earlier..
