Bhawanipatna: Odisha police on Tuesday arrested five persons, including four online web portal journalists allegedly for looting Rs 2.55 lakh from a Kantabanji-based businessman.
The cash was allegedly looted from the businessman on October 2 and a complaint was filed with Bhawanipatna Sadar police on the same day.
“On the basis of a complaint, Saintala Police had detained two persons while they were trying to escape. Later 4 journalists of web channels were detained, and subsequently arrested,” the police said.
They will be produced before the court after their medical examination. “We suspect the involvement of eight persons in this case and efforts are underway to nab the rest,” the police added.
