Bhubaneswar: As many as four persons were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in Odisha on Saturday.
According to sources, the cases of lightning strike were reported from the districts of Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Nuapada.
One person fell victim to the lightning strike while four houses were damaged in Nayagarh district. A woman of Goudapatna village under Kandapada block in the district died on the spot and the houses in Kendupalli village under Gania police station were damaged due to lightning and thunderstorm during the northwesterly.
Khudura Nayak of Kuilipali village under Karanjia police station in Mayurbhanj district sustained critical injuries while his daughter died in the lightning strike.
Similarly, an employee of a finance company died and two women were injured in Baghua village under Kamahyanagar block of Dhenkanal district and an old man of Kirikita village under Khariar block of Nuapada district was killed and another injured in the lightning strike on the day.
