New Delhi: Four class X students were chased down and stabbed outside a school in East Delhi on Saturday. The brutal knife attack critically injured the teenagers, cops said.
The students just appeared for their Class X examinations at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, which is located in East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area. As they were leaving the school, they were attacked by a students’ group from another school.
The 10th class students were identified as Gautam, Rehan, Faizan and Ayush. The four study at Government Boys Senior Secondary School Trilokpuri and were at the Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya centre for their exams, reported NDTV.
After the attack, other students near the crime site rushed the four to Delhi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. According to witnesses, the boys had lost a fair amount of blood at the time.
Three separate calls were received by the Pandav Nagar police station regarding the fight breaking out between boys at the school. When cops reached the scene, four minors were found under treatment for serious injuries inflicted upon them, the District Commissioner of Police (DCP) East was quoted as saying by NDTV.
The victims were between 15 to 16 years old. Three boys have been discharged after preliminary treatment at Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital, while one is still undergoing medical treatment at the AIIMS, Delhi, trauma centre, said the cops.
Further investigation regarding the incident is currently underway, with CCTV footage in the nearby area being examined to single out the perpetrators. A further probe has revealed that the attackers are RS Bal Vidyalaya students.
