Bhubaneswar: Heatwave condition continued to prevail in the state with 6 urban centres registering temperature of 39 degree Celsius or more in the last 24 hours.
According to evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday, 4 places in the state reported temperature of 40 degree Celsius or more. Titlagarh led with maximum 41 degree Celsius, followed by Balangir with 40.5 degree.
Baripada, Sambalpur and Boudh recorded 40 degree Celsius each during the period. While Hirakud reported 39.5 degree Celsius, it was 39.4 degree in Sonepur town.
The Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack reported 37.8 and 37.2 degree Celsius respectively.
The IMD forecast that there will be no major change in maximum temperature (day temperature ) in the state during next 4-5 days. It will remain above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the period.
