Bhubaneswar: The dog squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday raided the house of a dog breeder and rescued 40 dogs of foreign breeds.
According to sources, the person had been trading in dogs for a long time and had kept them in a house illegally constructed on government land at Laxmisagar in the city. A notice was issued asking him to vacate the land.
The raid was conducted as he failed to respond to the notice. The BDA officials also reached the spot for evicting the dog breeder.
The dogs have been shifted to a different locality, the sources added.
