Dhenkanal: At least 40 people were injured, several of them critically, in a series road mishap involving two trucks and a bus carrying a group of picnickers in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
As per reports, the series road accident took place at Bhejia Chhak under the jurisdiction of Mahabirod police station in the district.
As per reports, the bus was on its way to Badchana in Jajpur district after a picnic at Sambalpur when the vehicle collided with a truck at Bhejia Square following which another truck hit the bus from behind.
All the injured including the drivers of the bus and the truck were shifted to a hospital in Talcher for treatment. While around 40 persons were reportedly injured in the mishap, the condition of at least five was stated to be critical.
The bus was severely damaged under the impact of the collisions.
On being informed, a team of police personnel visited the spot and rescued the victims with the help of locals. The injured admitted to a hospital at Mandapala in Talcher.
The accident was suspected to have taken place due to poor visibility level caused by dense fog in the area.
