Bhubaneswar: About 400 COVID vaccination centres (CVCs) in Odisha have been closed due to acute shortage of Covishield vaccines.
Informing mediapersons on Wednesday, Director, Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said the state government has urged the Centre to provide 15 lakh doses of Covishield vaccines. While the state government has reminded the Centre through letters and e-mail, there is no response till date, he added.
Due to shortage of vaccines, the state government is unable to fix the daily vaccination target, Panigrahi added.
Asked about the status of Covaxin vaccines, Panigrahi said since this vaccine is only for the residents of Bhubaneswar, there is enough stock.
