Over 40,000 Candidates From Odisha Appear For NEET

Bhubaneswar: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), began across the country on Sunday.
The examinations which began at 10 am will end at 1 pm.
As per the instructions of the CBSE, the candidates entered the examination centres half-an-hour before the commencement of the test.
Out of nearly 13.36 lakh candidates across the country, about 40,000 students from Odisha are appearing for the test at 40 centres.
To ensure transparency in the test, CBSE has made several restrictions. Candidates appearing for the test are not allowed to take anything inside the examination centre except the admit card and passport photo.

The other restrictions include the dress code in which the candidates have to wear light colour half-sleeves clothes not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc with salwar and trouser. They are required to wear only slippers and sandals with low heels and no shoes.

No arrangement will be made at the centres for keeping any articles or items belonging to the candidates. In case, any candidate is found in possession of any of the barred items inside the centre, it will be considered as use of unfair means and action will be taken against the candidate in accordance with the relevant provisions.

The NEET 2018 test consists of one paper in all languages, containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially-designed machine-gradable sheet using ball point Pen provided by the board at the examination centre only.
