Bhubaneswar: The cyber fraud cases in Odisha have been constantly on the rise in the last three years.
From 867 cyber-crime cases registered in 2018, it increased to 1,475 in 2019 and shot up further to 1,931 in 2020.
Dishing out the figures, Home Minister (MoS) Dibya Shankar Mishra informed the Assembly that as many as 4,273 cases of cyber fraud have been registered in the state in the last three years.
He was replying to a query of Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the Minister said as many as 974 cyber fraudsters, including 21 women were arrested during this period.
Recoveries have also been made by state police. While Rs 10,74,127 was recovered in 2018, it was Rs 38,44,667 in 2019 and Rs 16,59,662 in 2020.
