Jajpur/Bhadrak: In view of prevailing flood situation and waterlogging, the authorities in Odisha’s Jajpur and Bhadrak have ordered the temporary closure of schools in the affected areas on Monday.
In Jajpur, the District Education Officer (DEO) issued an order directing that classes in 91 schools including government, government-aided, and private schools will remain suspended on Monday. Other schools in the district will function as usual.
Schools where classes are suspended will stay open and be made available for rescue and rehabilitation purposes as and when required, an order issued by the district Collector said.
In Bhadrak, the district administration has decided to close 341 schools across six blocks today due to the flood situation. The affected blocks are Dhamnagar, Bhadrak, Bhandaripokhari, Tihidi, Basudevpur, and Chandbali.
The district administration also advised students, parents, and staff to stay safe and follow official updates. Further decisions on reopening will depend on the evolving flood and waterlogging condition.
