Sundargarh: In view of a spike in COVID-19 cases, the Sundargarh administration has declared six villages of one gram panchayats as micro containment zone for a week from Monday.
Following detection of 19 positive cases in Murkia Musalman Bastipara, 24 in Bandega, Ultudihi, Fittingpara and Bastipara and two cases near Lulkidihi High School under Bandega gram panchayat, the administration has declared these areas as no access zone (micro containment zone) from April 5 to 12, the notification issued by Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan said.
During the containment period, there will be no vehicular and personal movement in these areas except that of the medical staff, authorised persons and service providers, it added.
Notably, Sundargarh district has witnessed a sharp rise in daily COVID-19 caseload with 455 infections being reported in the last seven days with the highest of 85 cases on March 3.
