45-Year-Old Temple Lifted 3 Feet Off Ground In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: The 45-year-old Sarbeswar temple in Odisha’s Cuttack was lifted 3.5 feet off the ground to avoid flood situations during the monsoon. The temple is situated at Friends Colony in Manglabag area.

According to sources, the step was initiated by the temple administration as the flood and drain water was entering the temple.

The project was assigned to Haryana’s Shri Ram Building Lifting company to carry out the process safely. The ground below the temple was dug in layers following which the jacketing process (strengthening and repairing of beams) was completed. Thereafter, the temple was lifted with the help of machines.

“This is the first time, we received a project in Cuttack. The building lifting process is a 100% safe process,” a worker of the company told the media.

He added that the lifting process began around 22 days ago and will take another five days to complete.
