Bhubaneswar: Police arrested 47 people on charges of gambling during separate raids conducted at different places across the state on Wednesday night.
As many as 11 gamblers were picked up from a gambling den at Airfield area here. Two laptops, Rs 29,000 in cash and cell phones were seized from them.
In a similar raid carried out at Jeypore municipality area in Koraput district, 25 persons were arrested with Rs 90,000 cash.
While six persons were nabbed with Rs 6 lakh following raid on a gambling den at Rourkela in Sundargarh district, cash to the tune of Rs 29,520 was seized following arrest of five gamblers in Dhenkanal district, reports said.
