Rourkela: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha’s Sundargarh district touched 857 on Wednesday with an overnight addition of 29 fresh cases.
Of these, 25 are from Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC), which is under complete lockdown till July 31.
According to the district administration, another three positive cases have been reported from Rajgangpur Municipality and one from Sundargarh Municipality.

The Steel City had reported 22 cases the previous day.
Amid the rising COVID-19 cases, the RMC has started tracking people in home quarantine through its Smarter Rourkela Mobile App to ensure COVID19 norms are being strictly followed. The app has been developed to identify geo-fence specific areas around people placed under home quarantine and those found violating the rule are immediately sent warning messages from the control room.
