Bhubaneswar: At least 487 of 1,643 approved highrises in the Odisha capital have been declared illegal by the development authorities.
Replying to a query of Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Odisha Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena informed the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday that the illegal structures had been constructed since 1994.
He further informed that direction has been issued for the demolition of 200 apartments in the city. Legal cases against 59 apartments have been dropped while cases against 92 apartments are sub-judice, he added.
