Bhubaneswar: A team of 48 athletes will participate in National Muaythai (Thai boxing) Championship 2022 to be held at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh from June 16 to 22.
The athletes were selected during 10th State Muaythai Championship, organised by the Odisha Muaythai Union, a recognised unit of Odisha Olympic Association, on June 4 and 5.
The national championship is organised by United Muaythai Association–India, which is the only Indian representative and affiliated body of the International Federation of Muaythai Association under International Olympic Committee.
The Odisha athletes along with 10 officials will leave for Dewas on June 15. The team will be led by Ankita Tripathy, Jinendra Kumar Pradhan, Shradhanjali Swain, Nurasing Suna, Umesh Nayak, Anjali Nath and Sandhyarani Dehuri.
Odisha Muaythai Union president Rabi Narayan Panda, general secretary Gyana Ranjan Mohanty and other officials have extended their good wishes to the athletes.
