Bhubaneswar: The fourth edition of Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Literary Meet (TSBLM) will kick-start on Friday afternoon with ‘Gandhi at 150’ session with Sugata Bose and Jatindra Nayak discussing the Mahatma’s relationship with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Open to all, the three-day meet, which will host an array of authors, leaders, opinion makers and performers. is being held at a new venue, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.
As a platform where ideas converge, TSBLM will once again explore the worlds of art, music, dance and current affairs.
On Day 1, there will also be a session with legendary actress Waheeda Rehman reminiscing on how she immortalized literary characters on screen. Best-selling writer Ravinder Singh will speak on ‘Love in the time of Tinder’ and Geeta Gopalkrishnan on the timeless wisdom of Avvaiyar. Odissi by Jhelum Paranjape and ‘Comedy Hour’ by well-known stand-up Abijit Ganguly are the other attractions of the day.
On Day 2, Mitra Phukan, Prajwal Parajuly and Nabina Das will deliberate on stories from the northeast. This will be followed by a session ‘Gandhi in Odisha’ with S N Sahu, Jatindra Nayak, Sangram Jena and Dash Benhur. The session with Ruskin Bond will see him speaking on his favourite topics, books and children. The other sessions include, ‘Licensed to thrill’, ‘Jaillianwala Bagh, a century later’ and ‘Poetry at moonrise’.
Day 3 explores the logistics as well as the impact of the identity card, Adhaar, exercise in India. ‘Fakir Mohan – A century later’, ‘The steel frame and the steel nib’, ‘Becoming Odia’, ‘The Twice Born’ and ‘Have Literature and Journalism Parted Ways?’ are the other sessions of the day.
