Puri: Police have arrested five persons in connection with a double murder in Odisha’s Puri town.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Sushil Kumar Mishra, Additional SP of Puri said the arrested persons had a dispute with Prakash Swain and his son Rabi Swain over a piece of land in Samangara under Sadar police station for the last six months.
While Prakash and his son were returning home on Wednesday night, the group of five accused intercepted them and attacked them with knife and other sharp weapons. Both Prakash and Rabi died in the violent assault.
Following investigation into a complaint filed by the victims’ family, the police conducted a raid and arrested all the five accused. The arrested persons are Jatadhari Pradhan, Balia Pradhan, Jaga Pradhan, Ratani Pradhan and a minor boy.
